Mark Stoops understands the heart ache and torment Kentucky fans have experienced over the years against Florida, so he acknowledges what the big win on Saturday did for the fan base.

He shared some of his reaction to the atmosphere from Saturday during an appearance on “SEC This Morning” with Peter Burns and Chris Doering on Monday morning.

“That was a special moment for Kentucky football fans,” Stoops said. “Just for us, it’s been a long time. I hope our greatest moments are not here yet and they’re still to come. But for Saturday, in the moment, it was a really fun atmosphere.”

Stoops said the late facemask was slight, but it was a penalty, and Kentucky must be able to overcome it.

“We stopped them 7, 8 times inside the 10 to win the game and so I greatly appreciate our players resiliency and the way we play,” Stoops said.

Stoops was proud of the play be defensive star Josh Paschal.

“He has the blocked field goal right after he makes a tackle for a loss,” Stoops said. “He’s really one of those guys that’s hard to describe because he’s playing so well, but he plays so extremely hard. He kind of sets the tone for everybody in the program. He’s a guy that truly empties his tank every day in practice.”
