Former LSU quarterback makes first bet at new Baton Rouge sportsbook
A new sportsbook opened in Baton Rouge Monday, the in L’Auberge Casino, and several former LSU players and even coaches placed their first bet there, according to The Advocate.
The voters in East Baton Rouge decided a few years ago to legalize gambling and it finally happened, the sportsbook in L’Auberge Casino opened.
One of the first faces you saw in line placing a bet was former LSU quarterback, Rohan Davey, who was all smiles as he placed his first bet.
He bet $1,000 on a three-team parlay: LSU over Alabama in a Saturday night football game, the Houston Astros over the Atlanta Braves in Tuesday’s World Series game, and the Kansas City Chiefs over the New York Giants in the Monday Night Football game. He could win over $6,000 from those bets.
At least one of his bets paid off as the Chiefs defeated the Giants, 20-17 on Monday Night Football.
Other’s who placed bets were former LSU sports stars, including baseball coach Paul Mainieri, gymnastics coach DD Breaux, pitcher Ronnie Rantz and outfielder Mikie Mahtook.
