Mac Jones has now played 8 games in a New England Patriots uniform.

The former Alabama quarterback has 1,997 yards passing with 9 touchdowns and 6 interceptions so far. Some people are starting to make comparisons to Tom Brady already in Jones’ rookie year, including The Ringer’s Bill Simmons.

He joined “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Wednesday to talk about how Jones has done so far in Year 1 with the Patriots.

“Patriots, 30-to-1 on FanDuel right now to win the AFC,” said Simmons. “Let’s go through the AFC teams. Who’s owned Buffalo for the last 20 years? Bill Belichick. Ravens. Do you trust their defense? I don’t. Kansas City. Do you like what you see? I don’t. Do you like the Raiders or Chargers? I don’t. Steelers have (Ben) Roethlisberger. No thanks. Go through the teams. Tennessee. No Derrick Henry. This is starting to feel 2001-ish to me.”

Bill Belichick is the all-time leader in playoff wins as a head coach with 31 wins. He also has the most Super Bowls by a head coach with 6.

We’ll see if Mac Jones can help the Patriots return to the promised land and channel his inner Tom Brady.
