College football fans are fickle by nature, and that’s certainly the case at Auburn.

The 13th-ranked Tigers entered their game at Texas A&M on Saturday having won 4 of their last 5 games, and the play of quarterback Bo Nix had been one of the keys to the recent success.

Nix’s play had earned praise from Auburn fans, but throughout his career many of those same fans have been quick to turn on the junior signal caller, and that has was the case on Saturday.

Nix struggled against the Aggies throughout the day in Auburn’s 20-3 loss in College Station.

He completed just 20-of-41 passes for 154 yards and an interception, had minus-18 rushing yards, and was plagued by accuracy issues throughout the game.

Most costly, however, was a 4th-quarter fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Michael Clemmons to put Texas A&M ahead 17-3.

Nix’s play resulted in harsh criticism on social media from Auburn fans, as well as college football fans in general, throughout the game.
