Alabama appeared to have a productive play along the sidelines early in the second quarter as Bryce Young found Jameson Williams. But after the play was broken up, there was no flag thrown against Auburn’s Roger McCreary for pass interference.

It was a first down play from the Alabama 40, and the Tide ultimately punted on the drive as the Iron Bowl has started as a defensive struggle into the second quarter.

On the CBS Sports broadcast, Gary Danielson said McCreary was beat off the line, and knows he’s going against speed. Danielson said that he would have thrown a flag.

By 10:22 left in the second quarter, Alabama had just 2 first downs, and Auburn with 5. The rushing stats were even worse than that, with Alabama at negative-10, and Auburn with negative-2 yards.
