Brian Kelly hasn’t even told his Notre Dame coaching staff that he’s taking the LSU job, per multiple reports; however, he’s already working on his LSU staff.

Kelly expected to retain key LSU assistant coaches Corey Raymond and Kevin Faulk, per On3’s Gerry Hamilton.

“New LSU head coach Brian Kelly expected to retain Corey Raymond and Kevin Faulk, per a parent of a top 2023 recruit,” Hamilton wrote via Twitter.

Raymond is the current recruiting coordinator and cornerbacks coach for the Tigers. He’s known as a dynamic recruiter, and he’s developed some of the nation’s top cornerbacks on the Tigers defense. This will help keep LSU’s recruiting class together as much as possible.

Faulk, of course, starred at running back for LSU, and he coaches that position for the Tigers currently.

It’s unknown if Kelly will keep any other LSU assistant coaches, or how many members of his former staff will come with him from Notre Dame. Regardless, this is a big hire for Scott Woodward and LSU.
