Nick Evers put out a statement shortly after Florida parted ways with Dan Mullen that said he was still committed to the Gators in part because he pledged to Florida for reasons beyond football. But now the 4-star quarterback recruit has de-committed from the Gators following a meeting with new coach Billy Napier.

Evers is a 6-foot-3, 188-pound recruit out of Flower Mound, Texas. He is the No. 10 quarterback in the class of 2022, and the No. 23 player in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite. Evers originally committed to Florida in March.

Evers has been on UF’s campus several times this year and was a big advocate of recruiting others to join him in Gainesville, Swamp247 reported. He plans to sign on Dec. 15 during the Early Signing Period and enroll early at the school of his choice. The Gators commitment list currently sits at 9 members after losing Evers.
