Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud and Alabama quarterback Bryce Young know each other from their days when they played high school quarterback in California.

Young talked earlier Friday about how he knew Stroud was going to be a star eventually and Stroud spoke also during his Heisman interviews about Young.

Stroud spoke highly of his Alabama counterpart. He said this via Tidesports.com.

“The way he moves in the pocket,” he said. “The zip that he has on the ball. He has great touch. You’ve seen him throw the ball. He throws without effort. I am definitely in awe of his game. A student of his game. I’m trying to watch him to get my game better.”

Michigan linebacker Aidan Hutchinson also spoke well of Young.

“I see his numbers and he’s got a lot of great numbers,” Hutchinson said. “I know he’s a great player. He’s here.”

The winner of the Heisman Trophy will be announced Saturday night.
