Eli Drinkwitz at a press conference on Tuesday revealed that RB Tyler Badie will not play in Wednesday’s Armed Forces Bowl against Army, as the star running back will prepare for the NFL Draft.

“We’re excited for his future in the NFL,” Drinkwitz said.

It is unclear what changed, as Dave Matter of the Post-Dispatch pointed out, since as of Monday, a Mizzou spokesperson said Badie was practicing for the bowl game. Drinkwitz had said for the last few weeks Badie would play in the bowl.

Badie led the SEC in rushing yards this season by more than 300 over the No. 2 rusher. He finished with a Mizzou-record 1,604 yards this regular season. The senior running back added 14 touchdowns this season, which also broke Missouri’s single-season rushing record.
