Kirk Herbstreit joined the masses Thursday praising South Carolina quarterback Dakereon Joyner.

Joyner, who’s been primarily used as a wide receiver this season, delivered a great performance in South Carolina’s 38-21 win over North Carolina.

Joyner connected on 9-of-9 passes for 160 yards and 1 touchdown. He also added 64 rushing yards.

Following the victory, Joyner was named the Mayo Bowl’s MVP, and he was overcome with emotion. Joyner’s emotion caught Herbstreit’s eye, as the College GameDay analyst and broadcaster gave him a shoutout on social media.

Joyner returns in 2022, too, and he may battle Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler for the starting job.
