Liam Coen had a smooth transition to the SEC this past season after he moved from the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams. Now his name is being floated as a possible offensive coordinator position at Miami.

A report from 247Canes via Canes Access noted that Coen is a “name to know” in Miami’s hiring process for a new offensive coordinator/quarterback coach position. The OC has been at Kentucky for just one season, and upgraded the Kentucky offense under coach Mark Stoops.

The Wildcats were No. 8 in the SEC in total offense in 2021, and No. 5 in scoring offense behind the key players of Will Levis, Wan’Dale Robinson and Chris Rodriguez.

Robinson and Coen were 2 of the biggest additions to the Kentucky offense in 2021, as Robinson became UK’s top receiver. Robinson broke single-season school records with 1,334 yards on 104 receptions, becoming the first Wildcats receiver with 100 catches. He also rushed 7 times for 111 yards during the regular season.

Coen previously spent the last 3 years with the Rams, 2018 and ‘19 as the assistant wide receivers coach before being named assistant quarterbacks coach prior to the 2020 season.
