Missouri is adding some help to the tight end position, picking up a commitment from an intriguing prospect Saturday evening.

The commitment comes from TE Tyler Stephens, a former 3-star prospect who began his college career as a member of Buffalo’s 2019 recruiting class. During the 2021 season, Stephens recorded 15 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Stephens is listed at 6-foot-6 and 246 lbs. with great size for the position.

Stephens did get some experience against Power 5 competition and recorded 2 catches for 26 yards against Nebraska. His best game of the season receiving-wise was against Ohio with 4 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

During the 2021 season, Missouri’s leading receiver was Chritauskie Dove with 576 receiving yards. The leading tight end receiver for the Tigers was Niko Hea with 18 catches for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns.

It will be interesting to see what impact Stephens has with the Tigers and if he is able to contribute in the passing game for Mizzou.
