Joe Burrow’s success in the NFL has brought on somewhat of a discussion about how he identifies his college history given that he played at both Ohio State and LSU, and obviously had more success with the Bayou Bengals.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, Burrow was asked if he still considers himself a Buckeye.

“I’m definitely still a Buckeye, I graduated from there, I still have relationships to this day that I wouldn’t have without being there,” Burrow said. “I’m still in contact with Coach Mick and Coach Day and Corey and all those guys. I’m still a Buckeye and for everybody who doesn’t know, Isaiah Prince was in my recruiting class at Ohio State. And after the game, we kind of reminisce about the times we had in the dorms, see each other out on High Street. We just said we’ve come a long way.”

Burrow has come a long way in his NFL career already. He entered as the top overall draft pick in 2020 after he won the national championship and Heisman Trophy at LSU. A knee injury cut short his NFL rookie season as the Bengals finished 4-11-1, last in the AFC North.

But now Burrow leads the Cincinnati Bengals into the Super Bowl next week in Los Angeles against the Rams in SoFi Stadium.
