Arkansas has wrapped up spring practice, and now the Razorbacks are dealing with some roster turnover.

Defensive lineman Dorian Gerald and linebacker Kelin Burrle have each entered the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.

Gerald suffered a season-ending injury after he started the season-opening win over Rice last season. He was listed as the starting ‘jack’ defensive end on Arkansas’ depth chart, and played 42 snaps. He had 1 quarterback hurry in the game. It was the third straight season Gerald dealt with an injury. The former JUCO pass rusher, who made 22 sacks in 2 seasons in junior college was recruited by Texas A&M and Florida before he landed at Arkansas.

Burrle, a former 3-star prospect, has not seen any action. Burrle initially committed to UTSA before he landed at Arkansas.

With a May 1 deadline to transfer and still be eligible to play this season, the portal should be busy in the next several days.

Coach Sam Pittamn recently made comments about it.

“The portal, I’ve thought the portal was for kids that were over-recruited,” he said, via 247Sports. “Guys that are working hard, they came into your program, they see that, you know, we made a mistake. They didn’t, we did. We recruited someone that can’t play at this level and they want to play. I believe they should have that opportunity to transfer and play. What’s happened is all of them — not all of us, I’m talking out of both sides of my mouth, because when we lose somebody in the portal, we’re trying to find a quality or better replacement. I’m not positive that was what the portal was for. But that’s where it is today.”
