Jermaine Burton has made a smooth transition to Alabama following his transfer from Georgia, and the wide receiver even said that his new teammates have congratulated him on the national championship. Burton said he’s not looking back at his time with Georgia, and instead focusing on this team and what Alabama can do this season.

In the national championship game, Burton caught 2 passes for 28 yards and drew a pass interference penalty as well. Burton caught 26 passes for Georgia last season for 497 yards and 5 touchdowns.

About the transfer, Burton explained his thought process.

“I was just trying to make the best decision I can for me and my family,” he said. “I couldn’t thank this program enough for the way they welcomed me and brought me in and treated me like one of their own. At this point right now I’m just focused on this team and what we can do better.”

Asked about the Alabama defense, Burton said what stood out to him is that the Crimson Tide play together, they have a lot of leaders and watch a lot of film.

Burton sees himself as a leader and trying to help the younger guys.

“I’m just focused on this team, and where I can do better and where I can help anybody out,” Burton said when asked about Nick Saban calling him the most consistent wide receiver in recent months.
