Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops will be sporting some special shoes for Saturday’s game.

Ella Woodford, a former cancer patient at the University of Kentucky’s Children’s Hospital, is putting her artistic abilities to good use by designing shoes for the Wildcats’ head coach.

Woodford, a devout UK fan who beat cancer 5 years ago, is now spreading her talents with hopes of attracting and helping more pediatric cancer survivors. Shoes she designed will be worn by Stoops on Saturday, and they will later be auctioned off to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

At a Kentucky football practice, Woodford had the honor of bringing her creation to Stoops who was over the moon to receive them.

“So, I’ll wear these in honor of pediatric cancer which is September,” Stoops said on receiving the shoes from Woodford. “So, I’d be honored to wear these, and I’ll donate these back to the hospital and try to raise some money to continue to research for pediatric cancer.”

Stoops will wear the pair of shoes she’s designed during the Northern Illinois game this Saturday.
