MarShawn Lloyd recalls how Saturday's hurdle brought back memories of Caleb Williams
South Carolina got off to a slow start against Charlotte on Saturday night.
But the Gamecocks turned it on over the final 3 quarters to roll to an easy 56-20 victory.
The star of the game for South Carolina was MarShawn Lloyd.
The 5-9, 212-pound sophomore rushed 15 times for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns.
And one of those carries was arguably the play of the day in college football Saturday, as Lloyd hurdled a defender on a 25-yard scoring run.
HALFTIME: @GamecockFB leads @CharlotteFTBL 20-14.
Play of the game so far? @m_lloyd_2 absolutely TAKING FLIGHT for this #Gamecock touchdown! @CoachSBeamer was loving it.

After the game, Lloyd was asked if he could remember a similar dynamic hurdle as a ball carrier.
He went back to his high school days and recounted a run in a game against Gonzaga.
Lloyd told the story siting next to Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler, revealing that it was a Gonzaga team that featured Caleb Williams, who ended up replacing Rattler as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback.
Low-key funny/ironic moment postgame last night — Asked MarShawn LLoyd when the last time he hurdled someone like he did against Charlotte was.
It was against, well, Caleb Williams at Gonzaga.
There's, of course, some history there with Spencer Rattler. pic.twitter.com/nSfRk38Y8M

Willams, of course, has since transferred to USC.
