The Auburn Tigers have made their decision on who will finish out their season as the interim head coach after Bryan Harsin’s firing.

Former All-American running back Carnell ‘Cadillac’ Williams will take over for the remaining games, according to multiple reports.

While playing, Williams was part of the best teams in program history which finished with a perfect 13-0 record and a Sugar Bowl victory against Virginia Tech. During that year, he earned a spot on the All-SEC team and solidified himself as one of the best running backs in Auburn’s storied history.

Williams is now in his third year as Auburn’s running back coach and his presence has been noticeable. Tank Bigsby, the current starting running back, earned numerous accolades in his freshman year and broke several school records while being coached by Williams. During his first year coaching in 2019, Williams helped lead the Tiger’s running back room to five 100-yard rushing games and earned his players three SEC weekly awards.

Williams’ first game will be at Starkville against Mississippi State as he hopes to manage the difficult position of taking over during the season.
