The fallout from the latest College Football Playoff rankings continues to be discussed, and one angle is how the SEC looks as the season reaches the stretch run.

Heather Dinich said on ESPN’s Get Up that Tennessee was her biggest takeaway.

“Tennessee can still finish as a top 4 team,” she said. “The selection committee loves their wins against LSU and Alabama, they’re No. 2 this week in strength of record and somebody above them is going to lose because Ohio State and Michigan still have to play each other.”

Dinich also noted that the committee has only left out 1 one-loss SEC team ever, which was Texas A&M in 2020. The Vols could take a similar path as Ohio State in 2016, and Alabama in 2017, she said.

Dinich added that Alabama and Clemson won’t make it in because they don’t look like top 4 teams.

But LSU, if it runs the table, would be the first 2-loss team to finish in the top 4, Dinich said.

Paul Finebaum, during the segment, brought up the 2007 LSU team, which lost twice, which won the SEC and the national title under Les Miles.
