John Parker Wilson made his regular appearance on the “McElroy & Cubelic in the Morning” show on WJOX out of Birmingham, Alabama and addressed a big game in the SEC West.

Wilson made sure to point out how unique of a challenge the Ole Miss offense will be for Alabama’s defense. Greg McElroy asked about how you stop a fast team like Lane Kiffin’s while comparing its pace to Josh Heupel’s at Tennessee, which created a lot of issues for the Tide.

“These are things that are hard to simulate in practice,” Wilson responded. “you can kind of simulate with good-on-good.”

In the SEC, Ole Miss is leads the conference in the number of plays per game, and the speed at which they run them. Wilson also mentioned that playing Tennessee is valuable experience for the Tide’s defense because of how hard it is to replicate in practice.

“Use what worked and didn’t work against Tennessee were they can kind of use that in preparation for Ole Miss. We’re pretty familiar with this team,” Wilson said about what the experience the Tide had against the Volunteers provides and how they’ve seen the Ole Miss’ system before. “This is Lane Kiffin who was at Alabama. Running a lot of the same things he did at Alabama.”

Wilson then went into some of the Rebel’s personnel including Quinshon Judkins, who has already passed 1,000 yards on the season.

This will be an interesting game for the Crimson Tide who is coming off a loss to LSU, but Wilson is confident that the defense will hold up in the upcoming game against Kiffin on Saturday.
