Both LSU and Texas A&M have caught the college football world by surprise in 2022 — just in very different ways.

The Aggies were expected to be a dominant team based on what they showed on paper, while LSU got off to a rough start with the season-opener loss to Florida State and Jimbo Fisher’s team hasn’t quite looked as expected — especially offensively.

College football analysts Chris Doering and Peter Burns recently weighed in on which team was the bigger shocker so far this year.

For Burns, it was Texas A&M.

“We both knew they were overrated going into the season,” Burns said. “But to be this bad, to have this amount of issues, to be 3-6, they have to win their last 3 games to become bowl-eligible. No one saw that.”

Doering had some other thoughts.

It will be interesting to see if Texas A&M can stifle a bowl appearance after a lost season and how much LSU continues to rise through the College Football Playoff rankings in the final stretch of the season.
