Nick Saban liked how Alabama played on Saturday in a 34-0 win over Austin Peay.

“I was really pleased with the way the team came out and played today,” Saban said. “I thought we controlled the line of scrimmage. … The defense got a few really key stops after we turned the ball over. It’s always good to get a shutout.”

The Crimson Tide played starters into the fourth quarter, and Saban was happy if that was a concern.

“If that’s the only thing we’ve got to complain about today, then I think God’s blessed me,” Saban said.

Saban also noted that Alabama had more than 500 yards of total offense, while Austin Peay only had 206.

“Would have liked to have scored more points, but we got to play a lot of players,” Saban said. “I thought Jace McClellan played really well and (Jermaine) Burton had a really good day today, thought Bryce (Young) did a nice job. All in all, we wanted to build on the momentum of how we came back and played at the end of last week’s game, and obviously that’s something that I thought we did a good job of today.”
