For the first time since Lane Kiffin took over at Ole Miss, Mississippi State has claimed the Egg Bowl. So you already know the Bulldogs were already pent up for some Lane Train trolling.

Mississippi State knocked off Ole Miss 24-22 due to the Rebels failing to convert a late 2-point pass. The next morning on social media, the frisky Bulldogs took a bite out of their rival with some good, old-fashioned trash talk.

Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers completed 27 of his 39 passes for 239 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception. Mississippi State held talented Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins to 91 yards. The Bulldogs’ defense tallied 15 tackles for loss, with Nathaniel Watson and Tyrus Wheat each with 2.5.

Mississippi State trailed 16-7 before rallying for the comeback.

“It’s a great win. A great win,” Leach said via The AP. “We responded in some really tough situations. It’s a great win for the program, a great win for the players and they’re really excited about it.”

Each team will now wait to see which bowl game they’ll play in after concluding the regular season with identical 8-4 overall records and 4-4 marks in SEC play.
