LSU’s Josh Williams is out for the Citrus Bowl against Purdue on Monday and ESPN’s broadcast provided some clarity on why he is out during the game.

Williams is apparently out because of a knee surgery that he got following the conclusion of the regular season.

The loss is certainly a big one for the Tigers, as Williams has accumulated 532 yards and 6 touchdowns on the season. Williams is a junior and will have a chance to come back and have a solid senior season for the Tigers.

The Tigers are off to a good start in the game even without Williams in the game. LSU held a 7-0 lead over Purdue midway through the first quarter.
