Sherrod Greene, a veteran South Carolina linebacker who battled multiple injuries throughout his career, has announced his plans for the 2023 season.

Greene on social media thanked God, his family, Gamecock Nation, teammates and announced that, “With that being said, I want to improve even more and so my next journey will prayerfully be one in the 2023 NFL as I will be declaring for the NFL Draft. Thanks to everyone who traveled with me on my journey.”

A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Greene finished his sixth season with South Carolina after he battled an ankle injury and a hip injury throughout his career that cut short multiple seasons.

Greene made 76 tackles during the 2022 season, 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for a loss and an interception.

This past season was a return to form that Greene last showed during his previous best season with the Gamecocks. Greene in 2018 recorded 73 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss and an interception.
