Florida and Vanderbilt boast the most players of any college program on Opening Day rosters as Major League Baseball kicks into gear on Thursday.

Florida’s 10 players on MLB Opening Day rosters is tied for first nationally with Vanderbilt. In total, 17 Gators played in the big leagues at some point during the 2022 campaign.

Several of the Gators are household names, including Mets slugger Pete Alonso, who launched 40 home runs and an MLB-high 131 RBI last season. He is joined in the NL East by Dalton Guthrie of the reigning National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies, as well as breakout starter Brady Singer, who fired 153 1/3 innings of 3.58 ERA ball for the Royals a year ago.

For Vanderbilt, the Commodores are proud to see the likes of Walker Buehler, Sonny Gray, Kyle Wright and Dansby Swanson.
