Angel Reese will visit the White House after all as the LSU star women’s basketball player has offered her latest comments on an ongoing issue with Jill Biden and the White House.

Biden, earlier this week, suggested both LSU and Iowa come to the White House because the teams competed in such a memorable national championship game. That bucked tradition that holds that only the winners take the trip to Washington every spring. This sparked outrage online and within the LSU fanbase. Winners go to the White House, runners-up do not.

Reese did not like that move by the First Lady and publicly bashed her for the invitation, and that led to questions about whether Reese herself would even end up joining her team during their eventual White House visit. That issue was brought up during ESPNU and ESPN interviews on Friday morning. Reese offered her latest stance.

Reese said the Tigers were hurt by Biden’s comments, but she wants to do what’s best for the team and if the team decides to go, she would go. LSU accepted an invitation on Thursday.

“Yeah, I’m a team player, I’m going to do what’s best for the team, and I’m the captain,” Reese said. “I know the team would love it and going back home and hopefully my cousin, they won the national championship too, so hopefully I can see them then.”
