Georgia wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette was arrested early Monday morning in Oconee County, Georgia on several charges, including DUI, following too closely and speed limit violations. He was booked at 10:10 a.m. and released at 11:15 a.m. on bond, according to 247Sports.

Morrissette is a rising 2nd year player with the Bulldogs, formerly rated as a 4-star prospect out of high school. He appeared in 11 games for Georgia as a freshman, totaling 4 receptions for 34 yards.

Of course, Morrissette was chasing a higher role with the Bulldogs in Year 2. He made 3 receptions in Georgia’s G-Day spring game on April 15.

Morrissette is far from the first Georgia player to have run into some issues off the field this past calendar year. Jamon Dumas Johnson was arrested on Jan. 10 for reckless driving, as was Jalen Carter in a drag racing tragedy that ended in the deaths of staffer Chandler LeCroy and lineman Devin Willock a few days later on Jan. 15.

Javon Bullard and Kenny McIntosh were also involved in recent or semi-recent charges involving motor vehicles.
