2014 Kentucky vs LSU

LSU (6-2, 2-2) had its most complete performance of the season to date, crushing Kentucky (5-2, 2-2) on both sides of the ball. Terrence Magee powered the Tigers’ ground game, ringing up 127 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 9 carries. He also contributed 44 yards through the air and a 49-yard kickoff return to open the game. Anthony Jennings made his second straight start at quarterback and playing well into the fourth quarter. He went 7-for-14 passing for 120 yards and a score.

The Tigers broke the game open when Tre’Davious White broke off a 67-yard punt return, evading a group of six Wildcats defenders while reversing field for the touchdown. LSU got another big special teams play when a squib kick took a funny bounce, allowing the Tigers to recover and tack on another field goal before halftime.

Kentucky’s run game was smothered, as the were able to grind out just 72 yards and averaged 2.6 yards per carry. Patrick Towles was held to 19-of-36 passing for 146 yards, an average of 4.1 yards per attempt.
