Bobby Johnson

Johnson’s nine year stint as Vanderbilt’s head coach started in 2002. In his fourth season, Vanderbilt finished with a losing record in 2005, 5-6, but was put on the college football map with the emergence of senior quarterback Jay Culter. Cutler was a NFL first round draft pick in 2006. After 4-8 and 5-7 record in 2006 and 2007 respectively, Johnson lead the 2008 Commodores to their first winning season in 26 years. Johnson spent 17 years as an assistant at Furman, spent 1993 as Clemson’s defensive coordinator, before returning to Furman as their head coach from 1994 to 2001.
