Missouri remains ranked at No. 24 in the newest Associated Press Top 25, released Tuesday at noon ET.

The Tigers played OK in beating South Dakota State, 38-18, on Saturday, but fell in many SEC power rankings. The Coaches Poll, meanwhile, moved Missouri from unranked to No. 22, one spot behind South Carolina. Overall, there are seven SEC teams ranked ahead of Missouri.

This represents the 13th consecutive poll in which Missouri has ranked in the Top 25, entering at No. 25 on Oct. 6 last season. The Tigers finished at No. 5 last season, then entered this season as the eighth-ranked SEC school.

Missouri will put that ranking on the line Saturday at Toledo after getting installed as a six-point favorite.

Before the season, coach Gary Pinkel downplayed the rankings and the perception of his team, saying he prefers to focus internally, but it’s good public relations and advertising for the program to remain in the Top 25.

Plus, with Missouri sitting at the edge, staying in the Top 25 means the team is winning.

The Jackrabbits fell from No. 10 to No. 12 in the FCS poll after falling at Missouri.
