The LSU Tigers have a strong backfield now, but two of last year’s running backs are showing what they can do at the next level. Houston Texans rookie Alfred Blue has already picked up a blocked punt and took it for a score a few weeks ago, and this week he earned major carries in Arian Foster’s absence. He carried the rock 13 times for 78 yards, and had a catch for another 10 yards. Meanwhile, Jeremy Hill had 7 carries for 39 yards for the Cincinnati Bengals and scored a touchdown for the second straight week.

Here are some of the best performances from the 37 former Tigers active on NFL rosters this past week.

  • Tyrann Mathieu, Arizona Cardinals: Still working his way back from a knee injury last season, Mathieu registered 6 tackles in just 15 snaps on the field in the Cardinals win over the San Francisco 49ers.
  • Stevan Ridley, New England Patriots: New England barely squeaked by the Oakland Raiders, but had Ridley as their leading rusher with 54 yards.
  • Morris Claiborne, Dallas Cowboys: Claiborne had 3 tackles, an interception and a quarterback hurry as the Cowboys came from behind to beat the St. Louis Rams. Claiborne’s pick was huge, as it came with the Rams driving to tie or win the game late in the fourth quarter.
  • Bennie Logan, Philadelphia Eagles: The defensive tackle helped clog the middle for the Eagles with 7 tackles and 1 tackle-for-loss in a 37-34 win over Washington.
  • Kyle Williams, Buffalo Bills: Williams, a veteran defensive tackle, had 4 tackles, including one for a loss, and 2 QB hurries in the Bills loss to the San Diego Chargers.
  • Brad Wing, Pittsburgh Steelers: The Australian punter boomed 3 punts for an average of 46 yards, including a 59 harder.
  • Starting offensive linemen: Andrew Whitworth, Cincinnati Bengals; Trai Turner, Carolina Panthers; Joe Barksdale, St. Louis Rams
