Ole Miss returns home to face a Tennessee team reeling after close conference losses to Georgia and Florida.

Let’s take a look inside some of the numbers of the Rebels 6-0 start.

The Good

160: The only question mark for the Rebels this season has been the running game. Ole Miss had a nice night on the ground against a Texas A&M team who is bad against the run. The Rebels rushed for 160 yards against A&M, and continued its committee approach. Three players had at least 20 yards rushing. Even if a feature back doesn’t emerge from the crowd this season, Ole Miss needs to continue to run the ball effectively.

0: The number of turnovers Bo Wallace has committed in conference play this season. Against the teams that matter most, Wallace has been very good at protecting the football and not making mistakes, a big reason why the Rebels stand at 3-0 in the SEC. If Wallace continues to take care of the football, Ole Miss will be very hard to beat.

12: The number of passes Ole Miss defenders have intercepted. The Rebels lead the SEC in interceptions; seven players have notched at least one pick. Cornerback Senquez Golson is having a huge year having picked off five passes. The Landsharks have created havoc for opposing quarterbacks with a defensive backfield that possesses the best ball skills in the league.

The Bad

2: The number of third downs Ole Miss converted on in 10 chances. The Rebels have struggled all year — they’re converting just 47 percent — but can’t keep putting their defense on the field when they have opportunities to extend drives. The Ole Miss defense has been lights out, but Wallace and the offense have to be better on third downs.

48: The number of tackles for loss the Tennessee Volunteers have recorded this season. Ole Miss faces an underrated defense this weekend, and the offensive line has shown some holes at times. Keeping Wallace upright will be key against Tennessee.

4: The number of touchdowns Tennessee wide receiver Marquez North has on the season. North has a knack for finding the end zone. He’ll be matched up with Golson on Saturday night, but is capable of a big play at any moment.
