This Saturday’s matchup between Georgia and Auburn is big for the Bulldogs for many reasons, but perhaps one of the biggest stories will be the much anticipated return of star running back Todd Gurley.

With his suspension finally over, UGA released the depth chart for this weekend’s showdown and Gurley is back atop the depth chart at running back.

Freshman running back Nick Chubb reverts back to his original role as backup, despite an outstanding four games as Gurley’s replacement.

Chubb rushed for 671 yards and five touchdowns on 102 carries and had four straight games of at least 100 yards rushing.  He was not only one of the top running backs in the SEC, but arguably one of the best in college football throughout the past four games.

With Chubb’s emergence in the last month, it remains to be seen just how head coach Mark Richt plans on distributing the carries, but with Gurley as the starter, it’s likely the majority of the carries will go to the former Heisman Trophy candidate.
