Which college football teams managed Saturday’s 25 best performances?

Editor’s note: This is not a real poll and is a ranking of teams based on Saturday’s results only. We’ve included the actual Week 13 AP Top 25 for comparison.

Here’s how the AP TOP 25 should’ve looked based on Week 12 performances ONLY

1. ALABAMA — Nick Saban’s fifth all-time win over a top-ranked team is a new poll record and pushed the Crimson Tide into the SEC West driver’s seat and the College Football Playoff’s final four.

2. GEORGIA — The Bulldogs stayed one game behind Mizzou in the East race with an impressive rivalry victory over Auburn, shutting down Gus Malzahn’s rushing attack. It was a costly 27-point win however after the Bulldogs learned that Todd Gurley is sidelined for the remainder of the season with a ligament tear in his knee.

3. NORTHWESTERN — The Wildcats erased an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to shock Notre Dame in South Bend with an overtime victory.

4. FLORIDA STATE

5. WISCONSIN

6. ARKANSAS — Finally, the streak’s over. The Razorbacks’ first SEC win in 18 games came at LSU’s expense during a dominant defensive effort against the Tigers. It was Arkansas’ first shutout win in league play since 2002.

7. GEORGIA TECH — The Yellow Jackets moved within striking distance of Duke in the ACC Coastal after returning two interceptions for touchdowns during a 21-point victory over Clemson. If Duke loses one of its two remaining conference games, Georgia Tech will face Florida State for the ACC Championship.

8. OHIO STATE

9. MICHIGAN STATE

10. MIZZOU — Maty Mauk and the Tigers shook off the rust offensively with over 500 yards at Texas A&M. Mizzou remained in control of its own destiny in the road to Atlanta with a 28-point third quarter and a late goal line stand.

11. UTAH

12. TCU — The Horned Frogs overcame a slow start to avoid a Playoff-ending upset loss to Kansas.

13. OREGON STATE

14. ARIZONA

15. VIRGINIA TECH — Despite converting only twice on third down in Durham, Frank Beamer’s team snapped a three-game ACC losing streak at Coastal Division leader Duke, 17-16. It was the Blue Devils’ first loss since Sept. 27.

16. MARSHALL

17. CINCINNATI — Matched up on Thursday night against former New Year’s Six at-large hopeful East Carolina, the Bearcats improved to 4-1 in conference play in shootout fashion.

18. TEXAS

19. OKLAHOMA

20. SOUTH CAROLINA — Trailing by a touchdown in the final minutes, the Gamecocks forced overtime at Florida with a blocked punt then outlasted the Gators in overtime, 23-20. It brought South Carolina to within a game of bowl eligibility and was the final nail in Will Muschamp’s coffin.

21. USC

22. UCF

23. PENN STATE

24. TENNESSEE — Quarterback Joshua Dobbs won his second straight start under center with an offensive explosion against Kentucky, sending the Wildcats to their fifth consecutive loss since a 5-1 start.
