Here’s what we’re not overreacting to in the SEC after Week 13:

Florida’s 49-point win in Will Muschamp’s home finale: Hats off to the Gators for taking care of business against Eastern Kentucky, but once again, it was an example of an SEC team ‘out-athleting’ other athletes, not necessarily a sign of a good team (hence the firing post-South Carolina loss). Not to pile on the SEC East’s only outgoing coach at the end of the season, but Muschamp’s team has been crippled by the passing game throughout and needs a near perfect performance to win Saturday’s game at Florida State. We’re not calling the blowout over the weekend a false sense of optimism, but don’t expect five touchdown passes out of the quarterback position the rest of the way.

Bo Wallace’s struggles at Arkansas: The Rebels ran into a Why Not Us buzzsaw in Fayetteville and Bad Bo showed up again matched up against an underrated defense. Everything that could’ve gone wrong did for Ole Miss in a season that’s spiraled out of control down the stretch. Wallace was never going to be a quarterback who won games by himself, but the lack of a running game in recent weeks has damaged the Rebels’ shot at a New Year’s Six non-Playoff bowl game. Asked to do too much against the Razorbacks, Wallace turned it over four times. In a previous loss to Auburn, no one was barking about the senior quarterback’s play, but instead a defense that’s no longer as dominant as it was earlier this season.
