East Carolina senior wideout Justin Hardy won the Burlsworth Trophy, given to the most outstanding college football player who began his career as a walk-on.

A four-year starter, Hardy set the FBS record for career receptions in a 34-6 win over Tulane on Nov. 22. The senior owns East Carolina school records for career receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Hardy is the only Pirates receiver to post three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Hardy beat out Iowa running back Mark Weisman and Mississippi State guard Ben Beckwith.

Beckwith earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors three times during his standout career with the Bulldogs. The guard leads the offensive line for an offense that topped the SEC in total offense this season and ranked second in scoring offense.
