Chris Kiffin might be the least-known member of the Kiffin family of coaches (including father Monte and brother Lane), but he’s done nothing but attract the nation’s top talent to Oxford since joining the Ole Miss coaching staff as its defensive line coach and defensive recruiting coordinator in late 2011.

Kiffin has recruited top talents from all around the country, including Mississippi, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, and he’s been one of the more approachable and relatable assistants in the FBS throughout the last three years.

His defensive lines have been among the best in SEC during his time in Oxford, and many of his touted recruiting finds have already begun paying dividends for Ole Miss.

HISTORY WITH REBELS

Kiffin came to Ole Miss after the 2011 season along with current head coach Hugh Freeze and most of the Rebels current staff. Before arriving at Ole Miss he’d served as the defensive line coach at Arkansas State during Freeze’s lone season as ASU’s head coach, and before that he was a quality control assistant with Southern Cal and Nebraska.

The third-year Rebels assistant played a major role in attracting three straight top 40 classes to Oxford from 2012-14. He was a lead recruiter in the Rebels pursuit of former class of 2013 five-star prospects Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell.

Nkemdiche and Tunsil have both been All-SEC performers during their Ole Miss careers, and Treadwell has led the team in catches for two years in a row.

The Rebels 2013 class earned Kiffin the honor of Scout.com’s 2013 National Recruiter of the Year, and in 2012 247Sports named him one of the nation’s top 50 recruiters.
