‘Tis the season for Mock Drafts!

Daniel Jeremiah from NFL.com just released his first mock draft, and he has nine SEC players projected as first-round picks.

The first player from the SEC projected to be taken? Florida’s Dante Fowler at No. 3 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jeremiah also had FSU QB Jameis Winston taken No. 1 overall by Tampa Bay.

Here are the SEC players projected to be taken in the first round:

3. Dante Fowler, DE, Florida (Jacksonville Jaguars)
7. Shane Ray, DE, Missouri (Chicago Bears)
8. Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama (Atlanta Falcons)
14. Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi State (Miami Dolphins)
20. Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (Philadelphia)
21. Bud Dupree, OLB, Kentucky (Cincinnati Bengals)
28. La’El Collins, OT, LSU (Denver Broncos)
31. Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia (New England Patriots)
32. Preston Smith, DT, Mississippi State (Seattle Seahawks)

It’s truly amazing what one great season can do for a player. Try Preston Smith, who was a monster in 2014. Smith came back for his senior season, and he dominated the competition, making 48 tackles, 15 TFL, 9 sacks, 2 INTs and 15 QB hurries.

Would Atlanta really pick another wide receiver to replace Roddy White? Better yet, how about the Amari Cooper-Julio Jones duo? Roll Tide.
