Sports Illustrated released its 2015 ‘Way-too-early’ preseason Top 25 on Tuesday and six SEC teams made the cut, led by Auburn in the No. 3 spot — the same slot we had the Tigers ranked in our own preseason stab.

League champion Alabama holds at No. 5, followed by Ole Miss at No. 10 and Georgia in the No. 15 spot. Mizzou and Texas A&M round out the SEC’s selections at Nos. 22 and 24, respectively.

Not surprisingly, Ohio State is the publication’s preseason No. 1 followed by TCU, a program returning 10 starters back on one of the nation’s top offenses.

Loaded with four and five-star prospects, Alabama is expected to bring in the nation’s top-ranked 2015 class on signing day, but it’s the rival Tigers who have offseason momentum after the hiring of defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and Crimson Tide assistant Lance Thompson.

Georgia enters the 2015 season with a new play-caller (Brian Schottenheimer) and perhaps the SEC’s best returning player overall, sophomore tailback Nick Chubb.
