With just over a week to go until National Signing Day, LSU’s signing is finally rounding into shape. Over the last few weeks, the Tigers have pulled in some big name recruits, with four-star athlete Donte Jackson, a New Orleans native, the latest among them.

Since Kevin Steele and Ed Orgeron were hired, the LSU coaching staff has been criss-crossing the map, living up to the coaches’ stated goal of going after every top recruit within reach. There are a few areas where the Tigers could use a boost still — defensive line being the primary need — that Steele and Orgeron are likely looking to fill.

On the whole, LSU’s class — which moved into the top 10 nationally with Jackson’s decision last week — appears to be bringing playmakers on both sides of the ball. Toliver is the No. 2 cornerback in the country, and he’ll be joined by Jackson and fellow four-star Xavier Lewis in an already loaded secondary. Jackson in particular is known as a true threat any time he can get his hands on the ball and he’ll be a dangerous player in the return game.

Meanwhile, Tyron Johnson joins a young, talented receiving corps, and Derrius Guice and Nick Brossette bring a splash of diversity to the backfield. David Ducre, a talented runner who will likely play a combo-fullback role at the college level, will present yet another ball-carrying option for the Tigers.
