Texas A&M linebacker Jordan Mastrogiovanni has left the team, according to 247Sports.

Mastrogiovanni was the starter at middle linebacker to begin the 2014 season against South Carolina, but he eventually lost his job to Josh Walker during the season. He finished with 26 tackles, including one for loss, and one quarterback hurry.

The Aggies hired new defensive coordinator John Chavis from LSU to help the unit improve in 2015, and it’s unknown at this time why Mastrogiovanni left the team.

Mastrogiovanni was a former three-star prospect exiting high school from Dallas, Texas.
