The NCAA recently released the Academic Progress Rate numbers.

The NCAA describes the Academic Progress Rate (APR) as ‘a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete, each term’. The multi-year rates cover a four-year period for the 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years.

Vanderbilt football led the SEC with 983, and Alabama was second with 978. South Carolina and Missouri led the SEC last year with a score of 980.

The current threshold for participating in the postseason is 930, and Arkansas finished just above that at 938.

Teams gain or lose points for retention, eligibility and graduation of D1 student-athletes. Here’s how the SEC stacked up, football-wise, for the 2013-14 academic year:
