Kentucky coach Mark Stoops has managed to secure the borders of The Bluegrass State.

Three-star linebacker Kash Daniel pledged to the Wildcats for 2016, giving UK the top three players in the state. Four-star offensive tackle Landon Young and four-star center Drake Jackson already have chosen Kentucky.

Daniel, at 6-foot-1.5 and 235 pounds, chose Kentucky ahead of Louisville and South Carolina. He ranks as the nation’s 16th-best linebacker according to the 247Sports composite ranking.

“The thing people need to know about me is that I’m one mean dude on the football field,” Daniel said, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. “I’m a completely different human being. It’s not even human. I go through a transformation. I’m a nice guy off the field. But when I step across those lines, the switch is turned on, it’s full throttle for four quarters. They’ve got to kill me to get me off that daggone field.”

Check out this video of Daniel — again, shorter than 6-foot-2 — powering home a rim-cracking dunk.

The inside linebacker commitment gives the Wildcats an SEC-high 19 pledges for the 2016 class. UK currently ranks in the top 20 nationally. Three of the team’s four top-rated commitments are in-state prospects.
