Auburn moved to replenish its receiver position Saturday when the team gained a commitment from Marquis McClain.

Unrated by 247Sports, McClain (Crestview, Fla.) is just a two-star consensus player. But the 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver held 16 offers, including from Mississippi State and Nebraska, according to AL.com.

McClain is friends with four-star Auburn commitment and fellow receiver Eli Stove (Niceville, Fla.) and the two made the trip together to visit coach Gus Malzahn and the university this weekend.

“I was a little nervous to be honest, but I was excited,” McClain said of committing, according to 247Sports. “They welcomed me to the family. They keep telling me I can possibly play the role that Duke Williams plays.”

The Tigers will lose at least four receivers after the 2015 season in seniors D’haquille Williams, Ricardo Lewis, Melvin Ray and Jonathan Wallace.

Auburn now claims 12 commitments in its 2016 class. The team ranks eighth in the SEC and No. 21 overall, according to the 247Sports composite.

The Tigers also gleaned a commitment from four-star running back Alaric Williams on Saturday.
