Four-star athlete Shyheim Carter (Kentwood, Louisiana) has decommitted from the University of Alabama, according to 247Sports.

The Louisiana prospect confirmed as much Monday on his Twitter account, which is protected.

The 6-0, 190-pound prospect is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 51 prospect in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Although Carter is listed as an athlete, he’ll play cornerback in college.

With Carter’s decommitment, Alabama has 18 commits for 2016, and most figure LSU is the team to beat for Carter’s signature.
