More anchors with a sprinkle of flash.

Vanderbilt’s updated Nike uniforms this season include various combinations we’ve seen before, but the 2015 jerseys will now feature sublimated anchor graphics on the sleeves — a trendy, subtle touch to the Commodores’ gameday look.

It also appears the team’s primary wordmark is considerably smaller across the front of jerseys above numerals:

In addition, the Commodores have the option of two new matte helmets, one white and the other black, complete with updated decals and a chain spanning the crown to an anchor on the back.

Last year’s gold helmet will return.

Vanderbilt is getting the custom gloves treatment, too.

Last season, Vanderbilt debuted all-black ‘Anchor Down’ uniforms that cost the Commodores a timeout and were later deemed illegal.

“NCAA football regulations do not permit the use of slogans on jerseys,” SEC Communications Director Chuck Dunlap said.

Vanderbilt on Wednesday teased a #DeepWater reveal slated for Aug. 16. There’s been no word yet if this is associated with a uniform switch or rebranding effort, but it falls on Fan Day, so it’s likely.
