Good old January.

A month usually associated with cold weather indicates something altogether different in college football. It means that your team has either been hot in December and has rallied to reach a bowl or it has been on fire pretty much all season, such as when Alabama rolled into the 2012 BCS national title game and throttled Notre Dame in the last January matchup won by the Crimson Tide.

Let’s take a look at the last time each SEC team has won a game in January.

Alabama: Jan. 7, 2013

Result: Crushed Notre Dame, 42-14, in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.

The resounding victory gave Bama its second straight national title and third in four seasons, but that’s not what most fans who watched it remember about the game. Nearly three seasons later, Brent Musburger’s feelings about Katharine Webb still feel like too much information.

Arkansas: Jan. 6, 2012

Result: Topped Kansas State, 29-16, in the Cotton Bowl.

With the victory, the Razorbacks matched a school record with their 11th win of the season. And their only losses that year were to LSU and Alabama, who eventually faced other in the BCS title game, with Alabama winning it.

Auburn: Jan. 10, 2011

Result: Edged Oregon, 22-19, in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.

Michael Dyer’s stop-and-go move on a 37-yard run that set up a winning field goal on the game’s final play did several things: it capped a 14-0 campaign, clinched the Tigers’ first national championship since 1957 and upstaged Cam Newton, who also won the Heisman Trophy that season.

Florida: Jan. 3, 2015

Result: Chomped on East Carolina, 28-20, in the Birmingham Bowl.

New coach Jim McElwain was among the spectators who saw Treon Harris throw an 86-yard touchdown pass to Ahmad Fulwood and Vernon Hargreaves III intercept a pass in the end zone to help the Gators (7-5) secure a winning season.

Georgia: Jan. 1, 2013

Result: Grounded Nebraska, 45-31, in the Capital One Bowl.

The Bulldogs reached 12 wins for the third time in school history as Aaron Murray threw five touchdown passes to set a Georgia bowl record, and his 427 passing yards were another.

Kentucky: Jan. 2, 2009

Result: Nipped East Carolina, 25-19, in the Liberty Bowl.

This was the Wildcats’ third straight postseason victory — an achievement even Bear Bryant’s Kentucky teams couldn’t accomplish. UK is, by two years, the team currently enduring the longest January drought, something coach Mark Stoops wants to change.

LSU: Jan. 1, 2014

Result: Outlasted Iowa, 21-14, in the Outback Bowl.

Anthony Jennings, the second quarterback in LSU history to make his first college start in a bowl game, got plenty of help from Jeremy Hill, who rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns

Mississippi: Jan. 5, 2013

Result: Pummeled Pittsburgh, 38-17, in the BBVA Compass Bowl.

Bo Wallace’s three touchdown passes helped Hugh Freeze complete an impressive turnaround in his first season as the Rebels’ head coach. Ole Miss finished the season 7-6 after going 2-10 the previous year.

Mississippi State: Jan. 1, 2011

Result: Mauled Michigan, 52-14, in the Gator Bowl.

Chris Relf and Vick Ballard accounted for all seven Bulldogs touchdowns in the worst bowl loss in the Wolverines’ storied history. Oh yeah. It was also Rich Rodriguez’ final game as a “Michigan Man.”

Missouri: Jan. 1, 2015

Result: Beat Minnesota, 33-17, in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

The victory capped a two-year win total of 23 for the Tigers — or what coach Gary Pinkel would call the best back-to-seasons in Missouri history.

South Carolina: Jan. 1, 2014

Result: Defeated Wisconsin, 34-24, in the Capital One Bowl.

In his final contest as a Gamecock, Connor Shaw accounted for five touchdowns — three passing and one each rushing and receiving — as South Carolina capped its third straight 11-win season.

Tennessee: Jan. 2, 2015

Result: Defeated Iowa, 45-28, in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

In Tennessee’s first postseason victory since the Phillip Fulmer era, QB Joshua Dobbs accounted for three touchdowns and Jalen Hurd rushed for two scores.

Texas A&M: Jan. 4, 2013

Result: Overwhelmed Oklahoma, 41-13, in the Cotton Bowl.

Behind Johnny Manziel’s four touchdowns and a Cotton Bowl-record 516 total yards, the Aggies clinched their first winning season since 1998.

Vanderbilt: Jan. 4, 2014

Result: Handled Houston, 41-24, in the BBVA Compass Bowl.

After blowing a 24-point lead, the Commodores rallied behind Patton Robinette, who threw two 50-yard touchdown passes to Jordan Matthews in James Franklin’s final game as Vanderbilt’s coach.
