Former Alabama LB Ryan Anderson says that people are drawing the wrong conclusion from the video that emerged of him talking to former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson before Watson was forced out of a Tuscaloosa pub.

Watson visited Innisfree Irish Pub in Tuscaloosa on Friday, but appeared to be asked to leave the establishment by other customers. Innisfree described the incident seen on social media as a customer trying to invoke the establishment’s right to refuse service, and said customer was forced to leave once identified. A second video appeared to show former Alabama players Wallace Gilberry and Anderson confronting Watson before he left, with some inferring that the football players were forcing Watson to leave.

Anderson’s publicist, however, tells TMZ Sports that Anderson and Gilberry were trying to prevent Watson from a confrontation with Crimson Tide fans.

“Bottom Line, Ryan didn’t ask Deshaun to leave and they have since talked after the incident,” Bob Broderick said.

Anderson reportedly offered to pick up Watson’s tab as a friendly gesture.
