Alabama baseball blanked Kentucky Tuesday evening, 4-0, to advance to the double elimination portion of the SEC Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Crimson Tide leaned on a hot start from left Hunter Furtado, who threw 5 innings and 77 pitches, allowing 2 hits, no runs, no walks while striking out 2.

Furtado’s efforts helped hand Alabama its first ever shutout in an SEC Tournament in the program’s history.

Alabama ended the season red-hot and have obviously carried that momentum into the postseason. The Tide have now won 6 straight, including a sweep of Ole Miss. Alabama also won series over Texas A&M and vs. Vanderbilt in the month of May.

Alabama will face off against No. 1 seed Florida Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
